Supercharged SOHC?
I am about to supercharge my y8 with a jrsc,
One of my friend's says I can run it untune for a bit, what are the cons about that..
It's a 9 lb kit.
My motor has 90,xxx original miles.
And for you guys that say I need to tune.
Can you list tuning options?

just tune it. save your self the trouble of possibly blowing it up. take it to a professional tuner and have it tuned on crome if your on a budget.

Re: Supercharged SOHC?
definitely cannot run it untuned. i tried a jrsc on a y7 8psi 91 octane would still detonate all over the place in boost. added an fmu bumped pressure up to i think max 70psi and i could get maybe 5psi out of it, anything more it would detonate. do it right the first time, get it tuned. iirc i needed about double the fuel going from 0psi to 10psi on my maps, so you can see how lean it will run.
