supercharged gsr?
My buddy and I both have gsr's. We wanna supercharge them, but we have a few questions first.. what other then the jackson racing supercharger kit will we need to purchase? will it be safe to run our cars with just a intank walbro 255 fuel pump and a FMU or will we need injectors and tuning? will the motor last if we just run with a fuel pump and fmu? we are just gonna run the stock 6.5 or 7lb pulley. will superchargers make good power with other bolt ons? please help us out thanks

Re: supercharged gsr? (dc2kid)
something to control that tip in detonation (ex. standalone engine management, water injection)
not having to hear that tip in detonation anymore is priceless

superchargers sucks on 1.8L or below motors... its called "Parasitic Drag" and its more apparent on smaller displacement motors. try driving your car with A/C on...and see if it feels like you lost some power. if you do, then yea thats the way it is.
turbo's are just more efficient for our hondas.
unless you got bigger motors... like a 2.0 or 2.4 or 3.5, etc. cuz they're not as efficient on small displacement motors.
better off going for a turbo.
my next car might be a toyota 2AZ-FE motor.....2.4L 160HP/163-ft-lb. the motor makes 100ft-lb by 2500RPM and 163FT-LB by 4000RPM. all that torque is the reason a supercharger will be fine for it... i'm planning on going for a TRD Supercharger. this is the same motor in camrys and tC..and this motor made 426WHP on stock internals with 17psi of boost! didn't blow up! thats how tough this motor is. http://www.scionspeed.com for info.
torque rules!

Superchargers are fine if your looking for instant power at any RPM but they are limmited on power. If your not looking at much over about 250whp and 150 ft lbs by 2500 RPM then a supercharger might be for you .
You do need a loose the FMU and junk that omes with the kit, I would run RC440s and Hondata have it tuned.
Or you could buy a 2AZ-GZ-FE@**~ and make 400+..........
