Default Aftermarket fuel pump needed?

I'm nearing the completion of my homemade turbo kit on my 1989 CRX, and I will be running the stock injectors with around 7-8 psi of boost. I will be using a Jackson Racing adjustable 8:1-12:1 FMU to handle the fuel. Will I need an aftermarket fuel pump or will my stock one do? If I do, can I maybe just run 310cc Probe injectors and turn down the FMU to lessen the strain on my fuel pump?

Later,
Derek

The stock CRX pump isn't up to the task whether you're running a FMU set up or 450 DSMs. IMHO if you run more that 65psi fuel pressure (that's 57psi base @8psi boost) you need an inline pump. If you run DSM 450 injectors, than you'll need at the very least a GS-R pump, equivalent or better.

spoken by someone running a homemade turbo.

Which would be better for me, inline or intank? would a 255lph pump be a good size?

INLINE you will need to run an inline to give the FMU as much fuel as it needs.

I put an intank in with my fmu and there is still some detonation. Obvioulsy the intank ain't up to the task.

However when I put my inline in in a fews day's will I notice a big differance in power. I'm thinking yes due to the improved fuel delivery?

Also, can I run dsm 450cc injectors with just an FMU? I'm thinking now as I the ecu won't let the car idle correctly with them? Is this so?

What did you say about probe injectors? 310's? I know they'll work, but what year probe did they come off? I'm going to start a new post titled injector swaps. Maybe we can get a list of cars with injectors suitable to our needs such as the dsm's and what not.

Be safe and get an in tank fuel pump, my 255 walbro fuel was only like 110.00 shippd to my door.

fmu requires high pressure to run off of stock injectors... inline
however the "better" way to do it would be a set of larger injectors w/ a large volume intank. Course big injectors require different control so maybe just a set of 310s? Btw, I have an brand spanking new walbro 255lph inline. Capped and clean. I'd go into more detail but you'd learn more just reading other posts. Everyone in this forum has upgraded their fuel system in some shape or form. Anyone who is someone anyways

edit: cliff notes - use the 310's, buy my inline and you can run your setup as stated... tuned of course

So the general consensus is an inline pump...But do I go with the 310 injectors or not?

god yes... 310's will still require a relatively high fuel pressure on your setup thus 310's and inline. If you went w/ 450ish you might get away w/ the oem, but I would still use a higher volume intank. generally a 255lph unit.

Could I even maybe use the stock injectors? Or would that be too much fuel pressure?

Yes you can use your stock injectors, use a 12:1 disk in your fmu and stock injectors you will be fine.
