Suggestions: I have new EGT Probe, fitting is too big for hole tapped in mani. more inside...
Turbo/Dp/etc.... is all already on so I do not really want to take all that off and re-tap mani for bigger fitting. I know I can do it this way just do not want to.
Two options I thought of:
(1) I used to have Greddy EGT, the fitting for that probe will fit into my mani, BUT the hole for the probe itself is too small for the new VDO probe to go through. I could drill out the hole for the probe on the Greddy fitting.
(2) Find a fitting that steps down from the larger VDO probe fitting size, to the size the manifold is tapped for.
Mani is a full race just in case anyone wants to know.

bump...nobody loves me?????
Thought of another option. Could I use my greddy probe with the VDO guage??? Or are the signals different?

Re: (mike1114)
i say figure out what size the fitting is that you have...send the mani back to full race and have them rebore it and tap it. That way no warranty is voided on the manifold and it'll fit perfect. Just my .02 cents though.

you could always just mount the EGT on the top part of the downpipe, but the readings would be a small amount off tho

as you see the hole for the egt is already drilled, I'm not moving it.
I'll look into another fitting.
I think my best option is to find out if my greddy probe is compatible with the VDO guage. As long as the voltage range is the same, they are ok.
It has to be a"K" type probe.

thanks for the replies everyone...
but please remember, I cannot tap as the mani is NOT coming back off and pieces of metal would get inside mani and turbo as they are all bolted together.
That mani pic was taken when I first got it. mani is also thermal coated so no drilling.
I'm just going to try using the Greddy probe and just try my old greddy guage and the new VDO guage and make sure they have the same readings. I called place where i bought VDO guage and they think the probe's are the same kind, just different sizes.

Re: (rudebwoy)
not trying to be a dick but is anyone reading what I posted???
I can't tap mani, metal shavings will get into the mani and MANI AND TURBO ARE BOLTED TO BLOCK AND NOT COMING OFF.
Even thought the pic of the mani is sitting on the ground MANI PIC IS OLD, MOTOR/TURBO/MANIFOLD ARE ALL PUT TOGETHER.
I'm just gonna use the greddy probe with the vdo guage thanks......

heard these work better than original. Per this site the probes work with a large variety of guages.

Re: (mike1114)
if your car is "running" you can drill the manifold, and NONE of the shavings will be getting into the turbo, because the exh. gas will be pushing them out.
unless, you just cant get a tap in the tight *** work area.
its not that hard to take a turbo and manifold off, quit being a bitch.
