Stupid question from a newb...
Ok, so I have a turbo set up on my car right now, and I'm looking to upgrade to bigger turbo, the only problem is that to do so, I will have to change manifolds, and in doing so go with a two bolt WG. The WG I have now is an HKS 4 bolt (pretty old but works GREAT). So, what I was wondering is to save me from buying another WG, could I bring it to a machine shop and have them "shave off" two holes from that flange to make it a two bolt? As most of you know the two bolt flanges are a diamond shape and mine is a square shape, so...in theory, if I shave off two sides, then it would be the same shape... correct?
Probually but you can get a new manifold and tial 38mm Wg for pretty cheap these days. Also what size turbo do you plan on going with ? or how many psi do you plan on running because of how old you say your WG set-up is you may even be better off with a new tial or something. But if you want to go the route i'm guessing you prob can idk the limits of what machine shops can do or not
I really haven't looked up any Tial WG's yet. My buddy says he has a Tial WG (44mm) for $100. I might just go about it that way. Thanks, I appreciate the input.
A 44mm is a V-band tho. you can get a blox log mani and a 38mm tial for like 500 brand new. And you can probually find used stuff anyways. I guessing it's a GSR motor becuase of your user name so theses probually a big market for them. In my eyes you have to get it retuned anyways if you get a bigger turbo so you might as well do it right and get a new mani and a better WG just my 2cents.
