Default Standalone Fuel Management

I have a direct port n20 system, and it could be tuned on a dyno with selected jets, but I am wondering will a standalone unit make the setup more reliable/easier on the motor... or will it just yield more power by tuning with it?

Thanks,
Jon

Is the only thing that is making it more reliable/easier on the motor the fact that it could hit less harshly? B/c i could get a progressive control for that. Anything else about the standalone that makes it more reliable?

no, they just optimize your fuel and ignition...which in turn, when it nitrous is one, it could adjust for all that.

Well, i could adjust my MSD digital 6 myself, and cant the shop i go to just tuned the fuel with the direct port jets. If it is a pretty good shop, shouldn't they be able to make it run reliably by dyno tuning with the jets, rather then needing a standalone.

If you are running nitrous and can afford a standalone w/ tuning... do it. Your engine will last longer as the sytem will guard against detonation much better than other methods.

BTW, if you are N/A, a Hondata is what... $400-$500 ? Why not ??
