SR20 question, but you guys should be able to answer it.
a friend has a redtop SR in his 240 and he has it set on stock boost (7 psi) , but it only run at 6.0-6.2. the turbo feels really strong, but what causing this? boost leak? dieing turbo?
depends what intercooler setup you are running (any pressure drop?) and where your wastegate signal and boost gate signal are plumbed.
if your wastegate signal is reading from the compressor housing or at the hotpipe right near the turbo, and your boost gauge is plumbed into the intake manifold, it could be anything from a slightly inaccurate boost gauge, to a pressure drop in the intercooler, to a small boost leak.
check for leaks first, then try plumbing the boost gauge into the wastegate source (tee it) to see if the gauge is off. try getting a boost signal from that and then try the manifold and see if the intercooler has any drop.

it should read higher than 7.When we had the sr at stock boost the gauge always read closer to 8lbs..maybe your gauge is wrong/bad.
