Default psi queston

i have an autometer boost gauge, and it reads 5 psi all day long. my wastegate(deltagate, i know i know) is supposedly set for 7psi. well no spikes from the deltagate, but when i put a manual boost controller on it spikes to like 13-14 psi. i took of the boost controller and now i'm back down to 5 psi.

first question, is my boost gauge showing five psi becasue it is off of the back of the intake manifold? basically is it possible that my intercooler/charge pipes are casuing a 2 psi pressure drop?

Second question, if i get the 8-11 psi spring and raise the boost is it going to creep again? is it the boost controller or the turbo getting into its effiency range or something like that?

once again, thanks for the help guys

Your seeing 5psi due to the pressure drop of the piping, and intercooler. Also I have proven mechanical autometer gauges to be less than accurate by 1-2psi over electronic gauges. The creep problem is your deltagate, they are a poor design and boost creep is quite normal with them. Your best bet is to upgrade to a Tial to keep your boost consistent.
