SR BB t28 having oil problems
I bought this turbo used from a friend. I ran the feed line un-restricted for 1000 + miles not knowing it needed to be restricted. I then tore my motor down for a rebuild with forged parts and i now have a restrictor fitting in the turbo. I did change my oil return line to two 90 -10an fittings. Now this thing smokes like crazy. It drips oil out of my v-band off of the turbo and pushes oil into my hot side and my intake pipe. I took the turbo off and it has no shaft play still but the local shops say that it doesn't have oil seals. Is this true and if so why is my turbo leaking oil?

What size oil return and feed line are you using? I've read people having more success from having the oil restrictor just a few inches from the turbo. Or half way from the turbo and block.

don't know, put the line on and hope you didn't drive it around long enough to damage the seals. Hopefully it'll be alright. Also, with your return, couldn't you've used a straight and a 45 instead of 2 90's ? Or was it due to some manifold design, etc?

The turbo was toast while it was unrestricted, and now you've made it worse using the 2 90 degree AN fittings. If it is a true ball-bearing cartridge, it is time for a new turbocharger. Get rid of the 2 90 degree angles or you'll be in the same position as before. On your next turbo, (if this is indeed for a Honda), then a .035" restrictor should be used for the feed line of a -3AN.
Call it a wrap on this turbo.
