Oil Bypassing Turbo Seals?
I am running a 4an feed line to my T3/T04E turbo and I think that im getting to much oil to my turbo and its starting to bypass the seals. because I left my house the other day and I noticed a little smoke behind me so I went back and it looks like there was alittle oil coming out around the exhuast side of the turbo, and it was dripping down the dp.
I read in Maximum Boost by Corkey Bell that if you get to much oil pressure or to big of a feed line that you can just bypass the oil seals.
my question is, if I get a smaller feed line like a 3an will this stop the oil coming out. Or since I already had oil leaking out of the turbo are my seals toasted? any advice would be appriacated! Thanks.

I bet it's your oil return actually? How's the angle on it? I am having this same exact problem and I am just going to replace my oil return line and help gravity do a better job of getting the oil out of my turbo. Oh, and if you want to check if the turbo is still good check your shaftplay. Mine has been burning oil all week (not badly) and my shaftplay is still minimal.

Im pretty sure its not my return line because the angle is pretty good but im replacing it anyway.
Also I checked the shaft play and its still the same as when I bought it there is hardley any at all.

Well at least your turbo is still good, if my return line doesn't fix the problem I am going to get an oil restrictor valve. $12.95 at http://www.stealthmodeperformance.com

Just curious... is this something that commonly happens? Too much oil flowing to the turbo? If u have a an-3 or -4.. how much oil is really being forced through?
