Custom shroud designed at work:

ad to do a little trimming but it fit almost perfect! Fan runs for a shorter period of time in cycles for sure.

After back to back dyno pulls my car does not even go past 194 with JUST the 13" spal puller fan. I am space limited on the shroud although it would be more efficient to have it. This fan is exceptional.

Most Spals are over 15A.

Assuming you don't have Hybrid's electrical issues, all you really need is a relay hooked to the rad fan connector, one wire to a +12vdc source (spal power), and one to ground (spal GND). In this case since its a relay feeding a relay, you don't need diodes since there's no complete solid-state circuit to feedback on when the coil collapses & spikes. Since Hybrid's setup runs the coil directly off two relatively sensitive switches, he needs the diodes to prevent harming them.

So for a working fan setup, it should be:

BLK/RED (rad fan connector) = 86
BLK (rad fan connector) = 85
user's 20A fused +12vdc = 30
user's wire to SPAL Red/+12vdc = 87
SPAL Black/GND = Chassic Ground

No diodes absolutely needed since the coil draws very little energy, and almost any spike would be w/in the stock relay's specs (far less than the stock fan itself). BTW the 20A supply doesn't have to be to switched +12v for this config, since the stock relay already is. Hybrid's bypasses it, thus his need.

hello i wired up the orange wire to the power wore(black and red) on the plug i put the grey wire on the solid black wire on the plug. my fan is running with just ignition on? do you know why? thanks
