Default someting wong! b18b ls-t not boosting at spring rate psi

so it's basically a ls-turbo with a .50 trim godspeed turbo, 2.5 piping, tial wastegate, greddy
type s bov, 440cc injectors, chrome. Anywho, so I got it tuned once at 6 psi with the tial
wastegate I bought used. so after a bigger fuel pump, and new charge pipes, i decided
to push atleast 10 lbs of boost so I ordered my wastegate 10 lb wastegate spring.
installed it. did test runs and it's only boosting at around 7-8 psi. so I don't know what's going on. If I hook up my boost controller, it will boost up to 10psi. but i want a consistent
and safe pressure thats why i went and bought the 10lb wastegate spring. any ideas?

Where do you have your wastegate hooked up to? If you have a shitty intercooler, and your wastegate reference is the intake manifold, that's your pressure drop across the intercooler. Pretty high for a low boost setup

where should I reference my wastegate to? my turbo does not have the vacuum nipple
on it.

My bad, I got it backwards. If the wastegate is hooked up to the intake, the actual pressure output by the turbo will be above spring pressure, but the engine will see spring pressure at the intake manifold. If you have it hooked up to the turbo or pre-intercooler, boost at the intake manifold will be lower than spring pressure due to pressure drop across the intercooler

Check for boost leaks

What was the spring that was originally in the wg? I bet it was higher than 6psi.

Not just that but did you buy a TiAL wastegate springwith the correct color for your unknown model TiAL wastegate? Or was it some random cheap copy spring from an eBay seller?

Sounds like a cheapo wg and spring combo. Just run the MBC and get the 10 pounds that way or buy real stuff and these issues wont occur

it's a tial wastegate. and I bought the 10 psi spring off of a local reputable store called
atp turbo. it's genuine 35-38mm yellow wastegate spring.
