Default sohc turbo heating problem???????

i have a d16y8 in a 93 h/b and every time i go up hills or drive for a long time the temp goes past 220.
d16y8
vitaras
scat rods
spa topmount
ebay t3/t4
brand new water pump
brand new slim fan
no thermostat
stock rad

what are you using for tuning ?
did you try using the thermostat ?
do you know your AFR's an/or EGT's ?

yes had thermostat same thing
AFR's are good just got it dynoed.

do you have a picture of the set-up ? your rad may need to be further away from the turbine

Agreed........head gasket.......if your resavor bubbles b4 it overheats then you have hg problem......and you should put the thermostat back on.......the coolant is not absorbing heat if the water keeps flowing......

When it goes up does it go up gradually, or get to a cretin point and shoot up?

put some fluorsence(sp) dye in your coolant and check for leaks

Search the overheating threads. They are a plenty! This is what you will find, add a block off plate to re driect air flow to the rad, Get a shrouded fan, make sure fan is blowing in correct direction, add a thermostst, add water wetter, bleed coolant properly.

you need some heat shielding... that turbo and dp right next to your radiator get really hot and radiate a lot of heat...

problem solved it was a cloged rad...
