No turbo honda anymore. I bought a 135i.

 

A friend of mine was running consistent 11.9's @ 117-120mph with just Intercooler, downpipes,and E50 tune Wednesday night in his 335i.

 

Basically a "Man's" car to play with now..

 

alrite my knowlegde of bmw's consisted of 3,5, and 7's series. is the 135 one of the new ones. i never even looked to see their boosted series or whatnot.

i do know that whatever year after '04 3 series sounds pretty mean.


my close friend and i have both been thinkin bout them, moreso him. the mission impossible movies dont help lol

 

135i is a great turbo platform to work with turbocharged. Easy to work on, but expensive in the parts. Great results for small changes.

 

i just looked it up. it looks weird, like a mercedes. quess i like the four door bimmers. id prollly go with one a couple gens older.


guess ill be taking the cluster apart to sand the back of the faces down some. definitely got hotspots. they start out even then hotspots appear. not sure even sanding the faces will help that. and the fuel side of the cluster is damn still oem hue. 140mph trailing up, it starts to revert to oem hue. rpm side is money

 

Yeah, it's a nice car. But the state of tuners leaves something to be desired. I got a cobb tuner but I don't see it having some the features like flashpro. It's definitely a different game.

 

Hmm. I wouldn't say that. It's all in where you look. I've found more possibilities with HP Tuners, COBB, and DINAN in Illinois. But they aren't drag racing oriented, so as you said, the mentality of the game is a bit different than what Honda/Mitsu/Subi guys are used to.

 

LOL ls joker, we have identical gauge setups. EM1 cluster, AEM boost on the left, AEM A/F on the right. I had a Tru Boost for a while but swapped it out for a regular AEM boost gauge. I have them because I love the auto dim features.

 

dang. thats twice in less than a week. for your cluster bezel, did you wrap it in carbon fiber. ive been thinkin of doin that. how bout leds for the faces of the cluster. kinda bummed i have to take the cluster apart to sand the back of the faces. either that or paint oem bulbs with some acrylic red paint. but that wont help the brightness

 

Nope, the EK dual gauge pod bezel barely works at all as it is. No LEDs for me, I am kinda old school like that. I like my dimmer switch to work still. Why is your cluster so bright? Do you not have a dimmer? You can get some of those gel caps to put on them and it really smooths out the brightness. The OEM bulbs come with them, same for climate control (at least in my experience).
