should i push it?
just wanting opinions.
right now im on a 13g turbo, runnin 10 psi
slightly thicker head gasket than stock (cometic, 3 layer steel), arp head studs, dsm 450cc's, walbro 255lph, crome tuned
been on this setup for over 5000 miles with no problems.
thinkin of a bump to the 14b on 10-13 psi. risk it?

i believe the one i'm thinking of buying comes with its wastegate at 13 psi.
i might try to put my wastegate actuator on it to keep it at 10psi
anyone know if it will fit? td04 actuator on the td05

do it if you have the money to fix the consequences, i currently whent from 10 psi to 15 and i been for about a week now smashing every corner...
I got a stock LS-T

if you have enought fuel pressure and a aem uego and you air fuel stays bet 11.8 to 12.5 max youll be ok. also you might wanna retard the timing in the ignition a little. if not dont push it..cuz u wont know
boost has nothing to do with the limit of the motor. its power that breaks stuff. i ran a stock d16z6 (with headstuds) with a 16g at 13lbs for a year before i got rid of the setup and the motor never had a single issue. car was going 13.3@102 which is roughly 200whp.
a 14b isnt really much of a step up from a 13g so it not like your going to be gaining 50hp from the switch, even with more boost. in other words running 10-13 psi on a 14b is fine as long as you compensate in the tune for the added power.

right now the tune i wrote goes to .8 bar, which is maxing out my map, with boost cut at 10.5psi
i just have to richen by a couple percent, and add one additional boost table or two to cover the extra pound or two, install my new map sensor, and tell the tune i've changed map sensors. should be just fine.
i run higher fuel pressure than the tune calls for too just to be safe. i plan on getting to the dyno within a month and tuning professionally to 15psi.

i don't see why people always say that. the 13g comes STOCK on a much larger motor. im sure the flow rate of the engines is close but still the point remains. its small yea, but i never planned on going over around 300hp, but i AM stepping up a small amount.
The size of the engine isnt the only factor that matters. The vtec engine rev rather high and create a lot of exhaust volume with high rpms which really taxes that turbo
Not necessarily. 10psi has different power gains on different turbos. First you want to check the flow rate (cfm) of your current turbo and compare it to the flow rate of the one you want to switch to. The higher the flow rate, the less boost it takes to make power.
