How much does the Stock D series(D16y7) headgasket holds with boost?

I was thinking of getting a Turbo app. COMETIC HG but my friend said it was a waste of money, since we are poor he he he...He said that the stock one will hold up fine. He has the stock HG on his Turbo Coupe and he's pushing 16PSI...

Now, my block will be built with ARP head studs and im gonna stay at 6-8 PSI at first and then when i get fuel upgrades i will be upping the boost to 10-12 daily.. Do you guys think the Stock headgasket will hold..

Price difference-->COMETIC HG is 110$ VS OEM HG that is 30-35 bucks.

 

tuning is everything.

good tuning = money
bad tuning = more money in broken parts and towing costs.

Stock works real well. 10 psi with no detonation shouldnt be a problem. I used to run 10 PSI all the time.
