Should I NOS it?
Hey wassup everyone,
I wanted to know if you guys think it's safe to NOS my car the way it is now. Here is what I have.
1994 LS
1.7 gsr bottom with si pistons
stock rods from 1.7 gsr
spoon head gaskette
arp head studs
type r cams and valvetrain
msd 6al
P28 ecu chipped with skunk2
stage 3 clutch CM
Apexi full exhaust
Would it be ok to throw in an NOS wet system direct port into the car? 100 shot?
Let me know what you guys think...or should I throw in a smaller shot?...if yes then great...if not then why and what should i do first?
Thanks in advance

Your compression ratio is probably pretty high, and the Skunk2 program is going to advance your timing. I would get rid of the skunk2 program all together, and run a 50 shot wet, depending on your C/R.

yeah its about 11:2.0 . I was running 11:0 before the spoon gaskette. So go with 50 shot and not 100? I thought keeping the skunk2 would be good...I have seen a lot of people running the skunk2 on a bit higher compression than I...but I just want to be sure

Sure, high C/R and Skunk2 were meant for eachother. Theyre both used in allmotor applications, but will hinder you when going the forced induction route.

ok..I will look into it...i'll see how much of a shot I can run with my setup then...thanks for the info...any other ideas are welcomed

If you are going to run it on your current setup you NEED to have it on a dyno when you spray, you will have to watch for detonation very closely.

ok...i'll definately dyno...but question..why should i dyno if i don't have a standalone system...there won't be much they can do except to tell me that i might blow up if i don't get a standalone to tune my weak point of detonation right?...correct me if i am wrong

Not trying to be rude here but you might want to do a bit more reading on how nitrous works and what different things are called..

100shot will be fine as long as the motor is healthy. i would definitely go with a wet kit and a Walbro pump. other than that, i would get colder plugs and retard the timing accordingly.

You do not need a standalone to tune your motor. You can tune the nitrous jets, your timing, as well as fuel pressure if you just buy a B&M regulator.

ahh ok this is good...i'll get me a fuel pressure regulator that can be adjusted...should I go with the vortech fmu instead of the regulator or just regulator or perhaps both?...how about injectors?..could the injectors remain the same (stock) if i get a regulator and pump?
you guys have been great
