The search for 600HP
Alright this may sound like a newb question, but I am just starting my motor build up, and I want to get everything right the first time.
What does it take to make a 500-600HP B-series.
Right now I have my old motor all set for the block to be sleeved, but im curious if my pistons are the right ones for what I want. I have JE forged 9.9:1 flat top pistons 81.5 bore. Should I step up the bore?
I have the turbo and manifold pretty much set, and the head will be full p & p with skunk 2 valve train.
Im just a little unsure of the block I figured 81.5 bore , crower rods, ARP bolts, Z10 girdle, all balanced in a B18B with B16 head.
Engine managment I will be running 1000cc injectors with hondata.
Does this setup have the possibility to run 500-600 Hp depending on the turbo. thanks for the help guys!!! and Happy Holidays!
Also I hope to have this all done by March, I got the money just done't know what to do.

Re: (BlackThorN)
I can't really say im shooting for 600 HP, I actually want to run low 10's in a 92 hatch. I have the suspention, slicks, cage, everything I need for low times I just want to make sure im doing the engine right.
The car ran a couple of 11.9 runs with stock block and head so im not new to racing, hondas, or turbos, but I am new to building a motor from scratch. I just want to put enough thought, and knowledge into this motor so I don't second guess anything.

The pistons will be fine...You'll just need to run a little more boost than the large bore people.
I would say 500ish HP is good enough for high 10's.
What mani and turbo are you gonna use?

Definetly true! (One just has to look at the N/A drag cars)
But for a street car, and the average joe...its gonna take quite a bit more.

Re: (Bryson)
I think im going to need a little more than 300 since the car is a street car, and I was putting out close to 300 or over with my last motor and I ran an 11.9.
As for manifolds I want to use a lovefab SST, but if the one im working on turns out well I will just use that.
So is there anyhting else anybody can think of to help me hit my goals of a low 10 God help me 9 second car. thanks guys.

10's are one thing...but damn 9's....? You better have your **** together! There is only one street honda that I know of that can run 9's (Littlebluecrx).

Alright I should probably rephrase what I said. I want to run low 10's and later on have it capable of maybe 9's. is it unlikely...yes, but i do want to try. I do have the backing of a local tunning shop redshiftmotorsports.com so I think im headed in the right direction, but just need a little more guidance.
I have had the pleasure to see littlebluecrx's car in action and its just awsome, and he's really nice guy too.

Re: The search for 600HP (DOHCarp)
84mm bore, JE piston, crower rod, B18 crank, ARP Studs(no bolts)Z10 girdle, B18 head, Ferrea valvetrain(.5mm intake,1mm exhaust oversized) Full Race exhaust manifold, 70mm Innovative turbo, Golden Eagle intake manifold. This is a combo we ran a few years ago in a Hot Rod class car that made 680hp on race fuel so I think it would be easy to hit your mark with these parts and 93 octane.
