Is it safe to run OEM Type R pistons in LS-Turbo??
Anyone running OEM type r pistons in a stock LS turbo?? Thinking of running shot peened rods and R pistons on stock head with a turbo daily driven on around 8 pounds of boost.. I am wondering if these are too high of a compression for my set up. I heard someone in town melted a r piston in his b16a with pretty much the same set up.. anyone care to help??

if its tuned perfectly, you'll be set, however you may end up taking out quite a bit of timing for it not to detonate.
choice is yours so long as you have the tuning capabilities. your meat and potatoes average joe FMU setup will not work.. you'll need a standalone
