Default RTV silicon instead of gaskets?

is it a bad idea to instead of using gaskets in between the manifold, adapter plate, and turbo to just use rtv silicon? or is this acceptable? its the high temp gasket maker rtv silicon for the reference

I could see rtv for the intake mani on an NA car, but deffinately not on a boosted car, and certainly not for the exhaust. You'll be cooking that silicone well over 1000F, and not much silicone is rated for over 800F. FYI Permatex's max-temp copper silicone rtv silicone is rated for 700F max.

you dont really need gaskets as long as everything is true. I never used any gaskets between turbo/mani/dp or wastegate and never had any leaks.

^^wow all that work to go turbo and they didn't even feel the need to get gaskets. HMT at its best right there. That thing is hideous.
