Default removing rust from fuel injectors

i just picked up some dsm 450s from the junkyard. problem is they are rusted on the outside. so i was wondering, will this cause a problem if i install them? also, if i wanted to try to remove the rust, what would be the best way to do this without damaging the injectors? thanks in advance.

the rust on the outside will not hurt them. however I would send them to rc to get flow benched. clean them with a dremel and a fine wire brush then put some kind of clearcoat on them so they dont rust again!! hope that helps man

thanks for the info. with the clearcoat, what do you recommend? i was thinking something simple like in an aerosol can. would this work with the heat of the engine? if not, what do you recommend? thanks.

yeah that would work fine. between the insulation of the injector from the manifold (gasket) and the fact that fuel is usually cold, they wont get hot.

Did this work for you? Anyone have any thoughts on if spray paint will work to prevent rust? Or should I get the brush on stuff? TIA.
