Default reliability of a b18b boosted

I am wondering how reliable a stock b18b will be on 10 lbs of boost from a t3/t4?

I dont know which "T3/T4" you have, but they do vary greatly since the term is rather broad. At any rate, if you stay in the ~300whp range, use quality parts, get a good tune and keep up regular maintenance, you shouldnt have any issues. I ran a stock block GSR for 2 years on 10.5psi on a GT3255b which made 315whp/216wtq. I eventually decided to build and here I am...issues can arise spontaneously, but with proper care and forethought, you will greatly decrease the chance of anything going wrong.

It all depends on the tune! In Florida my stock gsr put down 378 whp on 16psi and 93oct. Now in Colorado my same stock gsr puts down 379 on 11psi on 91oct.

With rods, pistons, and a good tune, 10 lbs shouldn't be a problem at all. When I was running 12 lbs on a t3 superbird turbo and stock internals my ring lands failed within a year. The car was only making 220hp and 230tq on a dynojet. My timing and fuel were a bit aggressive though. It is all in the tune.

How long have you been running 18psi on your stock b16?

94K is plenty if you never changed the gasket.

I pushed a freshly rebuilt stock LS on 12psi just fine as a daily for about 2 yrs... no issues with regular maintenance. You just shouldn't ask for too much from the tune if it's going to be a daily.

I'd check to see how healthy the motor is first, do a leak down, compression test and then be the judge.

also if you slap a set of arp head studs in it wouldn't hurt either and they are pretty cheap. The cheapest i found were on summit racing!

However you look at it, what is the size of the turbo? The rings will fail within time when you boost more than 10psi. The b18b block is known for bad rod bolts. I'd keep it around 8psi unless you plan on doing some work. Reliability is key

...I say this like once a week, but PSI doesn't mean anything. If you're at 10, 12, 15, 1000 psi, its all about the power created at that pressure level. That being said, the post above mine doesn't really mean anything. The numbers listed are really just that...random numbers. There is no magical pressure number
