Default Integra question

Does anyone know how much boost the stock b18b motor will hold.

its not so much "boost" you can measure, because the b18b could take 20 psi on a very tiny turbo, vs lower boost levels w/ a huge turbo.

Its more along the lines of POWER the b18b can hold. The b18b's heads suck....

but anyways, it will surely handle 300 whp daily, i know first hand

With a stock B18B and T3/T4 turbine.....8 psi is max because anything beyond that...the pistons will go!!!!!!

Sounds like one of the guys who hang around the shop where I dynoed my car. Just a few minutes before I did a 12 PSI run on a stock motor - and continue to everytime I choose to run high boost (which is often). As Mase said, it is power that you should be concerned about.

Where did you read that Superstreet

Anyhow, yeah i would say 300 is a nice stoping point on the stock motor, and like Mase said it's not psi, because that varies from turbo to turbo, but hp is a more precise way to measure a motors limits.

Nah ..i dont drool over Stupid Street like you.... I am speaking from experience because in my cousin's setup (stock at the time) the pistons cracked and he doesnt even drive it hard that much...boostin @ 9psi.

So just because your cousins motor blew that means that is the max
Maybe you should do a search, there are tons of people making 275-325 whp on stock Ls 12-14 psi. and pleased don't say that they are not reliable because there is a handful of memebers/friends locally to me that have done it and not one motor has blown. I myself am tuning this month to 12-13 psi, ill let you and know how it goes

Not trying to be a dick, but 8 psi is by far not the limit of the Ls motor, I have seen it done over and over again.

Is your cousin using Fmu? If not what fuel management? Maybe that was the reason his motor blew. On fmu I would say 8 psi would be the limit on the Ls motor because of small injectors, and high fuel pressure from this bandaid type management.

I'd like to know what the blown motor was using for fuel management as well... 8 psi is not really that much....
