Reliability of b16/b18/h22 turbo setups
hey everyone, I'm new here (as you can see by my 1 post count).
I'm deployed right now but coming home in a couple months, and looking to replace my Hyundai accent with something a little more fun. I love Honda's (I ride a cbr1000rr), and especially hatchbacks.
looking for honest feedback about the reliability of turbocharged b16/b18/h22's, and people's experiences with them. I know how turbos work and that going over 8psi requires a bottom-end build, but that's about as far as I know. looking for personal experience with them and any advice for someone who's looking to buy an already-turbo'd civic when he gets home. Reliability is my #1 priority because it'll be my dd, but I don't really know what to look for.
There are quite a few on CL and ebay, but very few with built bottom-ends (forged pistons, sleeved, etc). i'd hate to plunk down cash for a car that blew up a few weeks later and be wishing I'd gone for a WRX. :-P I know this is a Civic forum, but the WRX is a great machine in its own right.
thanks in advance!
