Default H22 or b16??

Looking on useful info on these swaps I'm debating both of them, my buddy says h22 all the way I just wanna know which would be better in your opinion? I'll have around 3000 to put into it total. That's buying the full swap and doing it myself with my buddy? Any help appreciated. He's pretty knowledgable of everything on the h swap cause he did it to his ek so I don't doubt anything about it just which would u do with the money I'll have? Thanks

What are your goals? Plot out your expectations whether it's going to be N/A or boost, power goals, etc. Gotta be more specific. People are biased to what they have and without more information, you may as well throw in any engine code for that matter.

Looking for strictly na for sure...wanna be able to beat all the local guys with what they think are bada$$ cars when there mostly junk and also take it to the local drag strip here...looking to just do bolt ons at first then sometime around September build it up pistons rods cam valves etc...will there be enough weight difference to where I need to change my suspension also? Looking to get around 250 with bolt ons and a new intake mani and bigger throttle body plus the basic i/h/e bolt ons?

Why don't you do a h2b swap.

That's a good start. But you are going to need a little more money to get everything running correctly and to get it tuned.

Well I got a buddy with a shop so the tune won't cost me and I think he has the extra stuff I need to get it in and done and tuned but if not I can add more money that's just what I was looking to spend but if needed ill add more any other suggestions or what would be the best tuning software?

h22a is like a b16. But with a fair bit more power. The B16 is alot easier to install though, like way easier. It also has some pros... Like you can treat it like you hate it and it will never break. It fits perfect in the chassis, with no axle, hood, or scraping problems. Plus it comes with a B series transmission.

Considering all this tho, I still vote H. H2B is best.

You really need to decide what you want to do. I'd only do a B16 if I was going to turbo it. That's my opinion.

A straight GSR swap is also a great starting platform. Hell, even a non-vtec b20 would be a great starting platform.

I have a h22 in my hatch, the only complaint i can make is the drone through out the car. I love the torque. True, u can beat the crap out of a b16, but with a h22 u don't need to beat on it to get the power your lookin for. I rarely ever hit vtec cuz there is no need, unless I get someone on the side of me with a grin, then I drop it in second n walk away. My brother has a mildly built GSR n with my bone stock h22 I have him by at least 2 car-lengths by the time I hit vtec in 3rd. Vtec+the h22 torque= YEE-FREAKIN-HAA

No cutting here at least. It is an extremely tight fit though.
