Quick timing question on B18C1
Setup:
Stock B18C1
Custom kit w/ T3
460cc injectors
AFC hack
Question.. on my Civic I ran 3 degrees of timing retard on the distributor while running the hack, which went great through 12psi of boost on a GReddy kit. Now of course I know that 1- The B18C1 runs higher compression (10:1 vs. 9.6:1), and 2- the B18C1 ECU runs far more agressive timing maps than does a D16... so, does 3 degrees of retard for my setup seem suffiecient? I just backed the base timing down to 12 degrees and I'll be running the colder plugs and a rich setup on the AFC, so I think I'm ok when compared ot my previous setup (albeit on lower boost), but I'd like some other input on this.
