Quick question: Running a motor that is built for turbo, without one.
I've got a D15Z1 frankenstein that i'm putting in my 90 CRX dx. The parts car i bought had this motor in it, with a turbo on it. I cannot use the turbo because it doesn't have a C.A.R.B. emissions stamp / sticker on it. The pistons are 8:1 compression(or so i've been told, i could be wrong about what i'm talking about but its definately 8:1 compression). The guy i bought it from said that it was sitting at 5-7psi boost and the Air/Fuel ratio gauge was always reading slightly under rich.
How long could I go running it without a turbo at that compression? How much harm will it do to my motor and i'm guessing that will definately be running too rich to pass an emissions test.
Thankyou for any help / tips / quick advice anyone can give.
