first perform a compression test the psi should be within 5-10 of each other

find out if its tuned and what it is tuned on

also see if if the motor has been built or if its stock.... see if he has receipts for the internals

buying a used turbo car is a big risk....i bought one used and the motor went out 2 months later

^^^THis

+if you have a friend that knows about them I would definitely take him with you. Another thing you should consider is that boosted cars require more maintenance, can you do this? If something breaks could you figure it out? ALso will this be your dd? Just keep thinking smart and don't make a bad decision

You would be better off buying a stock car since you have very minimal knowledge of cars.

on top of that make sure things such as heating and a/c work as well...had a friend with an IS300 boosted and the a/c didn't work, ended up trying to use it once and messed up his motor
