Default Questions about tuning..

im using a turbosmart manual boost controller. like other manual boost controllers, when i suddenly floor the gas it spikes up a few psi higher than i want it be at. only for a short second or two. how would you tune for this?

second question for the guys living in states that have 4 seasons. what do you do when it gets real cold outside and then hot? doesnt that affect everything about the tune? i live in missouri so it could be 90 degrees one day and the next it will be 30 degrees..

thanks.

Your boost spike is probably due to your wastegate or manifold. What are you using?

brand new greddy sohc 15g kit.

i heard that most manual boost controllers do this when you suddenly floor it and it goes a little above whatever psi you have it set to for a second or two then drops back down to your desired psi.

1: What's it spiking to? My MBC spikes to maybe 1 psi more than it holds at, no big deal... Especially on a 15G turbo which isn't going to make too much more power with the little extra boost.

2: I either get my car tuned a little rich or tune it in really cold weather. I usually tune a couple times a year to make the tune perfect for the weather. Right now I have maybe 11.5's when its warm out which leans out to a 12:1 when it gets cold, no big deal there.

it will spike to 10 and then drop back down to 7.. its unhooked right now and running the stock 5.5psi.

so with it being cold as hell right now (30's and 40's) i should shoot for 12:1? i mean im going to have my eye on the wideband all the time either way..

Crome, Hondata and Neptune all have Intake Air Temperature correction now

You can purchase Crome PRO for $150.. can't beat that. Has pretty much all of the features of the Hondata S300, as well.

I recommend looking through this website: http://www.pgmfi.org

Do yourself a favor and get the HBC...for those who don't know its Hallmanns manual boost controller(spelling?) Anyways Tim Switzer put it on my car while I was tuning my first ls turbo setup and it works amazingly. Best mbc I've ever seen..........

Yeah, 12:1 at that temperature should be fine. Re-tune again in a couple months when it gets real cold...
