Who races someone below 4500 rpm? I would shift up in the next gear and the motor will have all the necessary potential energy to fully spool the turbo to the desired boost pressure almost instantly.

Well for one, when using a stock EX tranny like the original poster of this thread will be, when shifting into second from 7200rpms your rpms will drop to 4209 rpms and down to 4739rpms in third. So that's pretty much everyone with a D Series races below 4500rpm. Wouldn't it be nice to still be in boost, dumbass.

especially with a higher redline.

30-32psi...ha, whatever man.
Please read.

Maybe you should reread his initial post. He said he was keeping the 7200rpm redline.

Whoa, i dont know what type of ex tranny you have been shifting with but i never fall below 5500 rpm. Even when i had my dx tranny i never fell below 4500rpm. As far as your statement about how much power my d15b will make, only time will tell, but i gaurantee it wont be 230 hp less than 400 like you stated before, to whoever this buster is, go do some more research before you starting trying to call someone a dumbass and prove them wrong. And as far as him running 32psi DAILY DRIVEN, thats ridiculous. But than again your incompetence has been seen on this board many of times, especially when you tried to sell me your USED PTEsc50 for $750 when i can buy one brand new for 650

First of all I never tried to sell you ANYTHING BEFORE. EVER. My SC50 is not for sale, has NEVER been for sale, and probably won't be for sale for a very long time.

Second of all, the stock tach on a Honda is EXTREMELY inaccurate. Do the math yourself with the gear ratios or if you did some research you might have found the answer on Mista Bone's tranny page.

"These tables will tell you how much your rpm's will drop when shifting. These numbers are for a steady speed shift. If you are accelerating they will be slightly higher due to clutch slippage and continued acceleration. Hybrid trannys also included. MPH numbers are for stock size tires, 22.7" overall diameter. MPH numbers for 5th gear are assuming enough power to overcome wind drag.
How to use these tables...If you shift at 6800 rpm using the DX tranny as an example, your rpm will fall to 3685 in 2nd, 4526 in 3rd, on so on.

Si/EX
1st----3.250---0000/7200---35.2mph
2nd---1.900---4209/7200---60.2mph
3rd----1.250---4739/7200---91.6mph
4th----0.909---5236/7200---125.9mph
Choose your 5th
5th----0.702---5560/7200---163.0mph
5th----0.750---5941/7200---152.6mph
5th----0.771---6107/7200---148.4mph

Taken from:
http://home.cinci.rr.com/mistab0ne/tranny.html"

Lastly, the amount of psi run daily driven means NOTHING. It is the amount of HORSEPOWER that you make. What one turbo makes at 15psi can be ALOT different than what another turbo makes at 15psi. For example, you can't compare a T25 at 15 psi to a GT35R at 15 psi. The GT35R will flow TWICE as much air! So don't tell me 32 psi daily driven is impossible. Tell me that his 350whp daily driven goal is impossible. He said he wanted to make 350whp, I'm just telling him it can be done with a fast spooling turbo.

Don't call me incompetant again, when YOU are the one that doesn't know what you're talking about.

On the topic of the ex tranny, i will admit fault, i forgot that the usdm stock redline is at 7200, my d15b redlines at 7800, placing me much higher in rpms when i shift.

No one ever said that 32 psi daily driven is impossible, its just not the smart way to go about reaching your power goals. As its been stated numerous times during this post, he could go with the larger A/R and it will make more hp at less boost. The sacrifice of spool up will be Hardly noticeable and it will also leave him room for higher power goals in the future.

And as I have said numerous times, it doesn't matter what psi you make the horsepower at. Who cares if you can make 300whp at 15psi with a .63 instead of at 17psi with a .48. The engine won't give a ****. 300whp is 300whp. Spool up will be noticeable, you will fall out of boost between shifts, and your sacrificing a better powerband for a number (more hp at lower psi) that doesn't mean anything.

Okay...lets go boost a motor 50psi and make a total of 100hp. Shouldn't care about the 50psi in its cylinders since its only 100hp.

50 pounds per square inch of pressure is NOT enough to crack cylinders, but the 1000+whp it would make is. Take some cylinder sleeves out of a spare block and find a way to fill them with 50 psi of air pressure, see if they break.

I have a SC50 for sale, it was on my 00 EX d16 and it had a decent spoolup with the .48 exhaust housing. It's only about a month old, i bought it new from arturbo.

PM me if anyone is interested

No No.....I had planned and saved up alot of money to put an sc50 into my civic.....well I totaled my civic and all that hard earned and saved up money went into buying a new car.......******* dont know how to drive . That thread was when I had like $7000 to build a setup including block work and turbo ****.........
Now im stuck doing a homemade setup.....but eventually ill get to that point....I actually think I might sell the DSM turbo because of the manifold issue.....but if someone can get one cheap ill do it

oh, i see, sorry to hear that. Well i dont think you will have any problems with the flange. all you have to do is have a manifold made with that flange on it, so it is no big deal.

good luck.
