I am thinking about buying my friends turbo d set up because he has a B16A now. Its a Z6 with a T3/T4 hybrid. anyway the engine has forged pistons and rods and he spoke with a guy at the shop that was doing the tuning about the slapping sound that the engine makes. The tuner told him that it was normal for forged pistons to make a slight sound like that. I'm trying to verify that or if the person that put the engine together may not have the right size rings or something. Forgive me for not knowing all the technical terminology...

the noise could be a couple of things... if it is a properly built motor and its not nothing ******* up... it could just be piston slap... from the extra clearances

 

i thought in general piston slap was a very bad thing...?
