Extremely good numbers for that setup. Im guessing its the intake manifold that restricts on b18c1s. WHat downpipe and cat?

Define "more" boost

15psi is easy on the internal gate. That's about the end of the line though. I've been pushing 15psi for a while on the internal wastegate, just pulled it recently to port the flapper...now I have a new manifold and a tial that I'm going to try out next spring.

I can't say that porting the wastegate helped at all because I barely got to drive the car this year. I do however know that I can't get the boost over 16psi...but the tial should take care of that.

it isn't the wastegate that restricts boost it is the cast elbow and the crap greddy exhaust housing

Maybe you are not farmiliar with basic turbocharger function, but the wastegate size has a huge impack on how much the exhaust side of a turbo system can flow. Once your desired boost is reached, the wastegate is open, effectively increasing exhaust surface area. The cast elbow creates a restriction downstream of both the turbine outlet and the wastegate hole. So yes, it is the cast elbow with its 2 inch outlet that severly restricts the Greddy 18G.

Is there a direct replacement on the market for the 2'' elbow. I have a 3'' downpipe connected to the elbow now. I also welded a turbosmart 38mm to the mani so now i can run 20psi with no spikes and no creep. After 2 years of the internal gate and it's bullshit this is a nice change.

the mitsu housing will bolt up to the turbo, but the flange won't match the nissan T25 on the greddy mani

Not that I know of. Look back a couple pages in this thread to see what I did (Vband adaptor and custom DP).

at some point there was a company out of canada that made a full replacement with like a seperate tube for the wastegate and all that but they were like $450 and no one was buying them(sexy as hell looking too), i know i saw it here on H-T like a while back, if i have some time at school today i will post the link.

Regardless, compression has very little effect on spool time. Compression is not really responsible for exhaust gas volume.</TD></TR></TABLE>

Right but lower compression means less response when OUT of boost on a street car.. So if it responds better before boost sets in and then has quick spool up because of the smaller turbo - it will be a better street car than one with 8.5:1 commpression and the same boost and same lag..

See where I'm going with that? It will spool quick with small turbo and run better OFF boost since its higher compression.

here is my dyno sheet(sorry it is so big) you can see boost was jumping around up top. I finally turned the boost controller to all the way sharp on response today and it just slighty jumps now though I have no dyno sheet to prove it with:

when do you see full boost, i see 5psi by like 4k, then hit 9psi at like just short of 5500
