PTE 6062 journal vs. PTE 6265 DCBB
I have a PTE 6062 in a journal bearing. I went this route in a straight trade from a well used GT3076. The 6062 has quite a bit more pump gas power. I did it also to get rid of water lines.
Since then, PT has come out with the ceramic bb turbos which also do not use water jacketing.
It's a subjective question, but would spool of a 6265 in the ball bearing be about the same as the 6062 in a journal bearing?
If so, I'm selling and saving my pennies to get the 6265.
Thx....

Re: PTE 6062 journal vs. PTE 6265 DCBB
Ball bearin helps some on initial spool up but it's more so helpfully in respool. BasicLly in between shifting the shaft stays spinning faster so the turbo spools back hp quicker inbetween get changes bu initial spool from the same turbo journal to bb is only a couple hundred rpm nothing to write home about.
If your looking to go bigger turbo wise then a great turbo would be the precision billet 6262 jounal over the 6265 dcbb. The bearings personally aren't worth the extra ching IMO and the output of the billet 6262 is amazing
