Default Proper intercooler piping size

Should the pipe size match the compressor outlet?

On E housings I run 2.25" IC piping and on S housings I run 2.5".

That's a pretty good rule of thumb right there.

depends on a hell of a lot of variables - specifically what cfm you plan to run, but remember that the IC causes a pressure drop. Large diamater piping also causes a pressure drop. Of course - if you need this increased diamater to flow at higher RPM or you drive around at a higher CFM - then you're set. If not - then downsize. But...good luck getting your BLinG points with slimmer piping that'll keep those flow rates high and lag low with torque up.
