I've only used my profec b for maybe 4k miles and today was the first time I try to up the boost at all. After messing with it for about 12 pulls I finially gave up because no matter where I put the settings the boost would not change. I contacted the GReddy tech help line from their website and they asked me if the control module under the hood was clicking when turned on and its not. Now they want me to send it to them for inspection and I don't know what to do. Does anyone have any suggestions? Has anybody had any problems like this at all? What could cause the clicking to stop?

when you say , no matter where you put it the boost wouldnt change. do you mean the boost will go over whatever the wastegate spring is?? the profec only goes 14lbs over whatever the spring is up to 28psi. there is away around the 28psi deal but thats another story. give us more info to help you

 

I have an aftermarket canister so its set at 4psi, and no matter where I move the settings on the controller in my car the boost stays at 4psi. I want to run 8psi and I've spent 400 dollars on this controller and it doesn't even work.

The greddy tech line says that the controller that sits under the hood should click, but mine doesn't. It did when I first installed it but not now. What could this be?

it clicks when you switch from low boost to high boost.
I suggest you click on high boost and turn it up to see if it works. If it does then mess around with low boost.
The vacuam has to be hooked up right or else nothing works.

 

I've changed the vacum lines twice. The vacum lines are setup perfectly. The tech at greddy said the controller should click when the solenoids are working. I'm taking it to a local greddy authorized dealer to check it out on friday but any other tips are welcommed!

How r u running the vacum lines? Im having same problem, it wont boost past 13psi. Someone told me to try to change it to an internal wastgate setup. But ive got other problems on my hand before i worry about upping the boost.

it definetly clicks when switching from low to high boost. i know that much.

 

Mine clicks, and it's great. we tuned my car precisely at 1 bar, .9 bar, .8 bar, .7 bar, and .45 bar <spring level>.

Yeah I', going to the autorized dealer tommorow to have them inspect it. They said it sounds like my controller under the hood isn't working. They are going to switch it out with a known good one in their garage to see if thats the part that is not working. Then we can go from there.

I had the same prob.

Had to plumb it the following way (against all diagrams).

Nipple on the compressor to in (could be from manifold if you want)

Out to the side of the Tial (leaving the top open to air).

I know this isnt the way Greddy shows, but its the only way I could get mine to work.

 

yeah but I have no tial to hook it up to so I couldn't hook it up like that. What I was told I need to do is actually unistal everything and send it back to greddy for waranty inspection.

If you only have one port use it. I swear itll work. It only takes a second to swap em around and try it.

 

I don't think you understand. I have an internal wastegate, they can only be hooked up one way.

I went ahead and uninstalled it today and switched the dipswitches on the back to internal wastegate for over-boosting. The god damn thing works now. I dunno why or how but the damn thing works now! I'm happy!

i remember one time I was messing with my car and then all of a sudden, my profec wouldnt boost past 5psi. I was on my way down to blanding blvd in jax. to partake in some racing...turned out, when i put my strut bar back on, I crushed one of my vacume lines under it. So it was like I was running stock boost.

 

Im a turbo newb but i thought your controller could only allow as much boost as the spring is set for. controller = less than or equal to spring?

 

It can only control DOWN to the wg spring rating.

i.e. cant use a boost controller to get 6 psi on a 10 psi spring.
