You need to READ the directions of the Profec b, and be VERY careful when adjusting your boost settings. For god's sake don't FLOOR IT when testing.

If the WG works by itself and it's happened twice chances are you're hooking up the controller wrong.

http://www.fd3s.net/profec_install.html

There is a little insight on how to hook it up and set the dip switches.

You will need the check the installation guide for the profec b...

Make sure the top and bottom ports on the WG is linked in the right way to solenoid and compressor, I recall seeing the link to the installation instructions somewhere in the FI section or you can get it from the greddy site..

I have profec b and 38mm Turbonetics evo 2 WG and I can hold 0.5bar on my setup.

Also make sure the % setting is low enough.. to get to it you have wait until you on the main display screen and turn the **** until you get it To below 10% for starters..

Theres 3 boost setup screens, the %, the set boost, the start boost.

The set gain in kpa or psi or bar value is not the actual boost setting..
Set the warning and limiter down to as low as possible try 9 or even 10 psi, if the settings are close enough to what you want there should be a response in holding the boost, or pulling it back down.

With "all" the settings low enough it should be able to hold a specific pressure, if not then the WG is stuft or solenoid is stuft or not installed properly..

By the sound of things it seems as the WG alone is holding, you have set both BC settings to 0...
mmmmaybe the installation.

Well because you told me you got it form ebay and its a no name. You unfortunately cant expect them to work for very long. I had to replace my ebay wastegate and BOV.

Take the MBC off and link the pipes together, this way the wastegates are going to see the actual turbo pressure. Drive the car carefully on boost and check to see if it stays at 9 psi using your boost gauge, if it stays at 9 psi you know the wastegates/ piping is ok.

If it overboosts you know you have a problem with the pipes/ pipe routing or wastegates sticking, take a look at the sticker under the bonnet and make sure the vac lines are connected exactly the same as the diagram (it is confusing until you find your way around it!). After you`ve got consitant boost at 9 psi you can re-fit the MBC and tune it in.
