Problems with your turbo car?
I am going turbo this summer, and what to know what sort of problems I should prepare for. Any major ones? My car will be my daily driver, so it will be important for me. I want to get a ratio of people who have had minimal problems to those who have had major problems or can't even drive their car anymore, hehe.

You shouldn't really have problems if everything was installed right and you don't go boosting every 5 minutes. My initial problems were with oil leaks, but that's because the welding shop didn't know what the hell they were doing...Ended up costing me a new oil pan and bringing it to Albert who is awesome and fixed me up for $20. After that I didn't have any more problems (for the 2.5 months I had it)...
Don't expect that you WON'T have problems, though....be prepared for the worst. With a turbo car, it's never a bad idea to reserve $1000-$2000 in the bank in case anything goes wrong..

Wastegate gasket, blowed already two times. Now I have a stonger one (made from a sheet of gasket) and it seems to hold.
Yesterday I drove a mountain road like 3 minutes, shifted hard and boosted the hell out of it. Something wrong about it?
Go the first time standalone! It is the most important thing when you go f/i IMO!!!!!!!

just expect to babysit your car from now on. you have to check everything all the time if you drive the car hard. if you make it a habit you should be ok.

Hmmm problems can occur at any time man, just simply do the correct maintainance on time including oil change, pcv valve replacement, fuel filter, tranny fluid...etc etc... AND do not constantly boost the car at every street light, that's just asking for trouble and headaches. Laters,
