Default Problems with Mjmturbos.com

Too make **** short i bought a Garret T3 Super 60 from Jaime (mjmturbos.com) This was a mistake buying a rebuilt turbo but once everything had been pieced together and installed the turbo would spool but would not create boost. I had brought it to a shop and pretty much told me its a bad turbo, the shop has a very good rep. therefore i have more trust in them. I found another turbo, but can the old one be rebuilt? Jaime from mjmturbos.com told me it was out of warranty, blah blah, goes something like this.......

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Your turbo is out of warranty.
If you said you run your car and not creating a boost, then you have a leak problem.
If the turbo shaft is wiggling, then the engine is running without oil or the turbo is running
without oil circulating to the system (starving oil).
The turbo turn as much as 110,000 rpm!!
You don't stand a chance at that speed. It will take a few minutes and it will burn.

If the turbo is ok and sound (just my guess, I don't know what exactly wrong)
Look at:
Your hoses, check your intercooler if there is any leak. If you have external wastegate, make sure you plug
the little hole in the neck of the compressor housing. If you are using internal wastegate, tighten the rod by
turning it clockwise about 2 to 4 turns. Make sure you take the end of the rod first by unclipping the little "C" clip.

Explain how you installed your turbo and the position of the turbo oil line.

As long as the turbo is good shape I will try to help you. But if the turbo is ruined, I can't help you with
warranty but I will try to talk to my company that you pay for just parts.
As you know, we sold you the turbo very tight and all the internals such as the shaft, 4 bearings,
turbine blade, compressor blade, piston ring and such are brand new.

However, I cannot speculate what happen to the turbo until I see it.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Maybe im just venting, any remarks are welcome, and yeah yeah i know i should have not bought a rebuilt turbo. Shitty

In need of boost.

I wish proturbokits.com still had their link on their website about mjm turbos. It was pretty bad what they had to say about them.

I bought my 60 trim T3 from down2turbo on eBay who supposedly sells MJM turbos...

It lasted for about 6 months and started spraying oil so badly that I had to take it off. Now I have to rebuild it...

similar to another customer of mine phantomX which i suspect had the same turbo. i bet you he will reply today saying therss massive shaft play and inside of the compressor housing is scraped up or showing " new" metal.

Alright so now after a blown turbo from just 2 hours of driving, the turbo was opened up by dsr and the the shaft had snapped in half and pretty ate itself, the housing broke due to my driving it back to dsr to get it checked out and i covered most of 880 with black smoke. mjmturbos wont help so i just took it as a lost. Got another turbo from prohect dc2 and its pretty much done, just needs a better tune. DONT BUY FROM MJMTURBOS.COM

Someone should make a sticky with MJM experiences. I bought mine a year and a half ago, not knowing that others had bad experiences with them.

If I would have known about these kinds of experiences I would have bought a turbo from somewhere else.

I wish I would have heard the warning.

P.S. When I rebuilt mine, there was an o-ring in the compressor seal that was MISSING, meaning, it was not there! Like, they just forgot to put it in there when assembling it , no wonder my turbo was blowing oil into my charge pipes.
