Turbo lifespan???????
About how long can a turbo last before you have to rebuild them? (I'm talkin very moderate 6-8psi of boost)
I'm lookin into a Greddy turbo for my 112,000 mile D16z6, also is that high of mileage a problem?
I was going to go with a B18B swap ,but i don't know if i can wait any longer......

There are a ton of variables to determine the life of a turbo.. but here's a list of things you can do to slow turbo wear:
Frequent oil changes
Good oil.. synthetic preferably
Turbo timer.. cools down oil after car's been boosting
Dont boost before the car is warmed up
And keep the turbo running in it's efficient zone.. ya 6-8psi is fine.. some people take a small 14b or T25 and boost it up to 20psi.. well that's in the inefficient range of the turbo, burning up the seals and damaging the turbo.

I still had the original turbo in my Mazda 323 GTX @ 187K miles.
No turbotimer or anything, just used Mobil 1.

Anyhow, if you want some insurance, get a turbo timer, or just remember to idle your car a minute right before you turn off the ignition.
I just sold that car a couple weeks ago, as is.
Still pulled great, only mod was a stainless exhaust.
But like you said, start screwin with it, and it will screw with you!
