Default PROBLEM: H22A Turbo

Friends' car is running like ****. Prelude on an FMAX Turbo Kit. I'll give you just the details.

Loud hissing while accelerating
A/F gauge constantly RICH
Absolutely NO boost
Lost 1/4 tank of gas driving 20-25 miles highway

We stop and pop the hood... instantly smell of gas eminates. He just went home to grab the CEL code. Any thoughts? Thanks.

What fuel system?

What's his A/f ratio?

Sounds like a charge pipe is leaking.

sounds like an injector(s) could be stuck open and spraying fuel. check the plugs after a hard run to see if there if it is wet or not.

H22 ecu's do not like boost. Try using a different ecu

umm... all honda ecu's don't like boost... and the fmax kit comes with 2 extra injectors and its own controller.

I would have to check out that fuel system but I know he's using the FMAX Additional Injector System.

The charge pipe is what I was thinking too but he has a heatshield and it was too damn hot to check at the moment.

And the A/F was read through an autometer gauge, nothing like a widebang O2 or anything.

Thanks for the help guys. Will report in the morning.

Yea I'm not a big fan of the MF2 either but he says it works great. Apparently not.

Any A/F gauge like autometer etc is going to be inaccurate. The only good thing about them is when at WOT it'll sorta tell you if you're running rich or not.

I know that's why I said it's nothing like a Wideband O2. Oh well it's something at least.

Well thankfully there was no fuel spitting out because we checked the injectors. Sh*t I am yet to talk to my friend about how the car's going.

Park the car till you get real engine management and a wideband.

Yea this kid likes to buy real nice parts for his setup while stinging on important parts. He doesn't even have a V-AFC, let alone real engine management. How is it supposed to be tuned?? Ah well, he's not really taking good care of it since he got his gixxer.
