Re: primed intercooler (91redteg)
Eastwood sells float black radiator paint in a spray can. I use it on most of the cars I build now. It makes the FMIC sort of disappear into the bumper and the car stops shouting "steal me."
Best of luck with your project.

true but to buy it anodized its liek 500 bucsk more and a can of black spray paint is 5 bucks and doesnt effect cooling. :>

IF there is any type of film on the intercooler.. it will affect cooling...unless it is some type of metal based paint.

Re: primed intercooler (PHDZINE)
lets get real for a second, I doubt its going to effect a small street setup to the point of power loss or danger from heat soaking, and if it does, leave the otherside unpainted and u can just flip it around.

Re: primed intercooler (PHDZINE)
Sorry for being lazy, been posting all night and didnt read other responses, no paint, how about some of that speaker grille cloth material behind the bumper or another material with what appears to be less of an air dam effect, it should be ok. There are some metal grille filler stuff available too.

what people dont realize is that a typical intercooler is 2.5-3" thick, and the coating is only on the face of the cooler, where none of the actual cooling takes place. its the air going through the core that actually cools, and the paint doesnt actually get in there anyways.
