Default Precision Turbo Selection

Been searching arounding about for turbo lately and came across some decent priced Precision turbo, There prices about about 650$ and thats just in my price range.

As for goals I want to make about 450 whp with room to grow to about 475-550.
I know 450 whp is over kill for the streets considering that the track near by has been shut down (for good =( ), It will be a street car, But im looking for a fairly quick spool up on the turbo.

Setup:
Block:
Gsr 84mm GE sleeve block.
cp 9:0.1 Pistons.
Eagle Rods.
Gsr Crank.
Acl Bearings.
Oem water pump.
Oem oil pump.

Head:

Gsr head- Stock head.
Ferra 5000 valves
Supertech dual valve springs
TI Supertech retainers
Gsr Camshafts

Fuel:

255 Walbro
Id 1000s
hondata s300

Turbo setup:

Sls log manifold
38mm Tial V-band wastegate
50mm Tial Bov
Precision 600 hp Intercooler
Custom Charge pipes

As for a turbo. my options are:

Precision 6031 "60 Trim" rated 590 hp.
Compressor is 59mm inducer/ 75mm exd
Turbine wheel is (T31) 65mm inducer 56.6 exducer.
.63 A/R

OR:

Precision 5252 Rated 590 hp
compressor is 59mm inducer/ 75mm exd
Turbine wheels (T350) 71mm inducer/ 62 mm exd.
.63 A/R
This turbo makes more top-end power

I More for the 6031 because it seems like it has a small turbine wheel, which makes me think its going to spool much faster and it will deliver and better Response.

Or should am i totally wrong and get the 5252 and get more top-end power.

Please chime in

5252 is a much bigger match than the older 6031. you don't get the quick spool you think you do with a 6031.. not in the slightest

its more for top end power, but sort of responsive. It depends upon what you're trying to do here. Is it street/ strip.. top end, or street fighter? this is more important than worrying about it between the two.

The car is gonna be more of a street car, like i said i want something fairly responsive and still have good power. now with that said, you suggest the 5252 over the 6031.

give me more, you could do a 5431, 5557, or 5857 at that point. No need to go huge.. What's your power goal here?

My goal is 450 whp with room to grow to about 475-550. I reason i choose those two turbo is becuase it was capable of 590 hp.

5857 sounds right on the money but out of the price range (no pun intended ) - probably over by about $200 +/- but worth it

I would suggest type R cams or a skunk2 stage 1 tuner cam and some headwork with a 5857...

OR

just get a 6262 CEA with your current setup and have a nice day.

Think ima go with the 5252, for more topend power. I also searched some other thread about the 5252, people said its good for 450 hp and thats plenty for me.

I'm not familiar with the 5252, but do some more reading about the 5857 and the 6262, this is not a decision to be made in a hurry.

if that's your budget, ok. since its narrowed down. but I'd look around for a few more options based upon actual setups, not just some number on a chart.. subsequently Precision bases their HP rating at Crank hp, not the wheels

I understand that precision bases there hp rating at flywheel instead of wheel hp. so if precision rates the 5252 at 590 flywheel hp, and the 5252 should put me at 400-450 whp at about 18-20 psi.

Please correct me if im wrong.
