An update finally.

Put on my sc61 saturday night. Im very, very happy with it. Right now im running 5 psi cause i dont have a wideband to tune right now....i richened my map up 4% under boost. Anyways, on my 81mm LS it starts to spool at 3600...only 300 rpm's later than my 57 trim t3t4e. At first i was running 11 psi on it, and it got pretty scary---i immediatly though i smoked the clutch, but it was just immense tire slippage

Sorry to bring this thread back up - but SC61 users, when does your turbo spool and hit full boost?

1.8L , was planning to fully build the motor with 10:1CR. Will use a full 3" exhaust.

I was looking at spool time on a sc61 on a c5 running stock compression at 5 pounds, 3" dp and 3" exhaust.

Can anyone tell me at around what power level i should upgrade a O trim
to a P trim? The turbo is a T66 with O trim and 58 a/r ratio. Boost at low rpm
is important with only a 4000 rpm stall speed on the torque converter. The
engine is 8.5 to 1 and 2500 cc's.

Thanks as always! Steve

steve, usually an o trim will start limiting top end around 550 at the wheels. Is your manifold using a divided housing? If not, then it would deifnatley be a good idea to go over to a .68 a/r open housing. If you need send your turbo out to us and i can get you a GT P turbine with any housing you want.

Will the "P" give much more lag then the "O"? The housing is divided tan.
The goal power wise is in the 600-650 range, just not sure if the trans is
ready for that much power yet. Might just pump up the boost to get to 550
for this season, then upgrade this winter.
