post pics of your welds !!!
The invertec machines have had lots of bad press. When I was researching them, everyone said to NOT buy them. I forget exactly why -- it was a while ago. I would check up on them on the the welding newsgroups:
http://groups.google.com/groups?hl=e...oining.welding
http://groups.google.com/groups?hl=e...oining.welding
i searched under "Invertec V205-T" and it looks like they didnt have anything bad to say about that specific model. but there was only one guy who actually posted that he had one, so i guess its hard to say. i'm thinking if you went with either lincoln or miller you can't really go wrong. especially if its intended use is mostly hobby.

low wire speed and high voltage
Is thats what's best? or is that the problem..

wait those are crazy garys welds, are u crazy gary?
jeeze .. welds are like signatures huh ??? i remember the guy sayin geoff recommended hihm to weld the dump tube
Yes those are garys welds, and no, i am not gary.. but you did post a reply in my post about this dumptube, so you were aware(im assuming) that it was welded by gary and not me,.. i didnt know this was a post for people who did their own welds, honest mistake..
for all you welders! Great beads and great fitment. I'm ashamed to post mine ..........
I have to stop making excuses for my eyesight and buy a cheater lens to put in my helmet. I have been having one h*ll of a time since I had to go to bifoculs.... it basically stinks! I have a distance of like 9 inches or so where things are in focus, if I go to 8 or 10 inches its blurry. If I pull my glasses down on my nose to clear things up, they fall off with the sweat inside the helmet then I can't see squat .............. gak!
Any old guys (tm) out there that beat this problem, PLEASE share the solution with me.
Regards,
BigMoose
LOL...my only real problem is getting off track from the joint. I was looking at this soap stone stuff....I assume you can mark where to weld and it makes it easier to see or something??
big and kind of quarter roll look. I dont think they are half bad for a 1975 Lincoln Arc welder(if you can see the welds). Ill post more pics later tonight...

here s what I did today, I wasn't in a rush so I did the roll of quarters deal.
this was done with a Hobart/Miller 135 MIG
It might not be the beat and doesn't look that clean, but you guys get the picture

that is horrendous hehe
j/k. The bead is all over the place, I'll have to show mine later tonight
How thick is the metal? What wire size are you using?

oh, and to get the rolll of quaters going, either do have moons like you said, or move teh gun back and forth to force the molten metal teh way you want it...

24 gauge !??!?! i hhave enough trouble welding 18 gauge exaust pipe, how the fuuck ......
yeap...24guage or something like that...it's very, very thin. You just have to play with the heat and wire settings so you won't burn holes while welding, plus get ebough heat to penetrate the metal
