I got the lincoln weldpak 100. Its a flux welder that can be converted to mig with the kit that costs 100bux. I figured i'd practice til i convert to mig. So far i think it welds decently. Just what i needed...to hold. The welds come out looking pretty shitty but who cares. I'm making a crash cage for my bike. Doesnt need to look that great...as long as it holds.

here are a few pics of my flux core, mig welding. pretty sexy if you ask me. if you are wondering what kind of welding pattern i am doing, instead of doing half moons or nething, i actually do a complete circules. i use high heat and low wire speed, i have been welding for about 2 weeks now, i am 17 and am a junior at high school.

I have been using a lincoln 135 mig for about 3 weeks. I have the most consistant beads with a loop pattern like you use. I picked it up in the other huge welding thread. there are a bunch of cool ones to try on there
