the point of the discussion was the differance between the new ones and the old ones... i stated my opinion on the old ones... thanks for u opinion though...
i know people have used eagles on race motors as well... i remember bein at the track before... saw a block with an eagle stickin out of it next to angela's trailor and the block in jj's car had a rod also stickin out the side of it... (not 100% on jj's as to if it was an eagle but as far as i can remember it was...
to put it simply.. after all the money people put into these motors why risk it on an inferior rod? stock rods can hold up to 300-400... i just dont understand y some people insist on buying cheap rods... afterall, u do get what u pay for...
on a more positive note... the newer rods with the bigger bolts i have been seeing better results from

Bolt Failure.....thats it period....
I have seen over 850whp on the dyno with the Eagles...then 10 passes later poof!.......
Exchange them for Olivers same thing......
Cunnigham same thing......
At first I believed everyone saying that the Eagles wouldnt stay together...so I changed up twice.....same results...the rod bolt failed in every case...
I sent out one of each Eagle/Oliver/Cunningham....that didnt break.... each had bolt fatigue...(to an independant place)...
Later discussions we found that our stroke combo and rpm was causing the problem.....I need 7/16" rod bolts....which will require a big end rod design change....This is due to the piston speeds with our long stroke and high RPM...Destroking will allow the use of shelf rods...If I stay with the Stroke and rpm, My potential for more HP is there but the rod would have to be crazy...
APPLICATION is the key......
Budget....
RPM......
Stroke.....
How good your tuner is......will determine how over-built things need to be...

No, but some people like the piece of mind. Take my friend for example. He has a GSR, he wants to boost it, 280-320whp, I keep telling him, "Just stick with the stock bottem end, there good to like 370whp, pretty reliably. Just put a good tune on it." But to no avail. He thinks he NEEDS some forged internals, and not just any, he needs the best most expensive ones.

Its a still economy tube and fin core hacked down with entanks welded on it...Decent deal for $200 bux but anyone could construct something similar for cheaper. And wheres the 500whp dyno's? how are larger, bar and plate garrett cores (some of the BEST out there) rated less than 500whp?

Maybe because the ratio of Eagle rod owners and Pauter rod owners is like 10000:1
You see, the more people run the same parts, the more they appear to fail. I see way more blown up turbo civics in my area than blown up turbo Integras. Does that mean Integras are more reliable?
It doesn't have to be the rod themselves that fail either... Anything in the bottom-end that grenades for whatever reason will potentially ruin the rods and everything else. So the more people running these Eagle rods, the more chance that they will have a broken rod from whatever reason that caused their motor failure.
Eagle rods are fine if you used them in the right apps. I would agree with AR Fab with his statements. Choose your rods accordingly... don't expect miracles.
You do not need anything stronger than Eagles for 260-350WHP. The Eagles are already enough for a peace of mind considering that guys are pushing those same numbers on completely stock internals.
Don't worry, I have nothing against you; I am also a fellow Pauter rod owner
I just want to let you know why you see more Eagle rod failures than Pauter.

i know alot of people that run pauters....ive never herd of a rod failure from pauter . ive seen bent pauters from a destroyed motor , but the rod didnt fail......i have yet to see a pauter rod let go and it be determined that the rod was the weakest link.

FYI, I spoke with Eagle earlier this year about rod bolts. I was told they switched sizes because market demand was for the bigger bolts. Not an engineering decision according to Eagle, strictly marketing. Interpret as you wish.
