I'd be careful under b00st with the valve closed. I would personally rather have my cutout further back so I dont have to worry about pressure bulding up when the valve is closed and pushing back into the turbo. Seems like a good design though.

this really wont be much of a problem.. if it is... i'm sure it can be relieved by opening up that electric valve that you have available with this system.

wouldn't it be bad to drive around w/ the cutout open since it's before the 02 sensor? Just open it under close loop right?

i dont like that design

is a nice 2.5-3" downcurve
but that nasty exhaust tube is way too small,...... turbos backpressure is on the manifold, u want the less restriction after that.... if he has the small pipe a lil bigger it will be better for him.....plus i would make a Y instead of that T off the pipe since the exhaust will find itself hitting the e coutout and then having to backup and find its way to the other pipe

it gets a from me

I dont think your looking at it correctly. The cutout obviously opens away from the pipe that connects to the exhaust. It would not hit it.

i do know
and i am looking at it correctly

i am talking while the cutout is closed
if u want it for daily driven, its still too small and will mantain the temps on the turbo kinda high

i just dont like the design... its not well designed for when the cutout its closed.. once its open, well thats a diff story , since it seems to be ok, but it will still dump everything under the hood

I like it but $500 is too much. Well atleast for me.

Who makes that electronic flapper? I looked around but couldint find it. The rest of that I can have made for nearly free.

ive been interested in this downpipe for a while ...

but im also worried about not having the o2 sensor before the cutout . could make part throttle on the open dp bad..... other than that i dont see a problem.

Comprimises have to made sometimes...
The valve is meant to be open when you want to jump on it not closed and
The design is a "y" in essence.
It doesnt dump anything under the hood as well.
When your on it, your typically moving and the airflow under the car pushes the exhuast under the car....
We dont have any problems with it at all on any of our setups......

We can accomadate the O2 sensor on the 3" portion of the Downpipe if you need it that way.

Thanks,
-Matt

i think id rather just buy the cutout package from qtp and just weld it along my exaust pipe further back, were its behind the o2 sensor, and doesnt run anychance of burning something up in the exhaust bay

its only $180ish plus what you pay for your regular dp of course.

although if you dont run a full 3" exhaust (like me ) you would only have as big of an open pipe as your exhaust is.
