Default Ok not boosting.... why?

I will post a pic of my setup (this may answer a lot of questions)

I finished the install on the car and took it for a drive and the car will not make any boost.
I am using a tial 35mm, but I made a block off plate for it and eliminated the wg all together and still no boost.
The turbo is brand new and spins freely
The oil feed line is providing oil
While the car was idling, a "friend" of mine unknowingly put his finger in the compressor wheel and stopped it from spinning. I dont know why he did this, but when he released his finger the turbo did not start spinning on its own power.
There are no obvious exhaust leaks that I can hear.
Checked and double checked all the intercooler lines and everything is tight

When driving I cannot hear the turbo spool. I am open downpipe right now and I should be able to hear it a block away, but nothing...

I have another turbo that I am going to try to put on and see if that makes any difference, but I am open to suggestions if anyone has any.
Thanks guys

it shouldn't spin at idle unles it's at high idle. if you look at the turbine side open dp and rev it a little you will see it spin, but when it returns to idle it will slow it's spin down and stop. ball bearing ones take longer to spin down since they spin easier.

do you mean no boost driving or when sitting reving? how is your wastegate line hooked up?

you should hear it spool, but maybe since you aren't really hitting much boost is the reason.

good luck.

I am not hitting any boost while driving. I realize you can't make any without a load on the motor. The side of the wg is hooked up to a vacuum source and the top goes to my profec b, but like I said I have eliminated the wg all together by making a plate to take its place.
I think I should hear it spool whether I am making boost or not

what about your blow off valve? perhaps thats just wide open letting it all leak out? might try that out...

Mine spins quite slow at idle. Im surprised that nobody has made a comment as to WHY he put his finger in a SPINNING TURBINE ....... Ever see that video of that guy getting sucked into the jet engine......

Anyways if you had no exhaust on your car the turbo should be very pronounced. Or do you have the wastegate releasing to atmosphere.

If your BOV is open wouldn't you hear the turbo spool more as it tries to compress free flowing air??

I don't think that by him sticking his finger errrr.... in the runnning turbo it could damage it seeing as how it is designed for over 80k rpm and 1,400 degree temps. just my 2 cents.

ahh i see that you are indeed running open atmosphere. If your not boosting a lot and using a manual boost controller the wastegate is going to open very early say around 2-3 lbs if its say set at 6psi. In turn the open exhaust sound covers up the turbo noise.......

What does your boost gauge say???????

I think whoever stuck his finger in the turbo bent one of the turbine wheels, and its rubbing

i don't think the turbo will be damage with just sticking a finger in it unless it's spinning really fast but during idle it shouldn't matter. this is just my thought.

the turbo was not boosting long before he stuck his finger in. He didn't bend anything because the turbo was hardly spinning. I put a friend of mines turbo on and the car boosts great. I could never hear the other turbo, but you can hear this one spool no problem.
So has anyone ever heard of this? I really didnt think it was the turbo because you just assume that a brand new turbo is going to work great!! Unless it wasn't brand new
