Default oil temp guage sender

If anyone has an oil temp guage Id like to know where they put the sender for it. I have asked around and the best answer I can come up with is it will give its best reading when placed as close as possible to the oil pick-up. where has anyone seen it placed? thanks. dean 89turboteg

I would try tapping the plug on the back of the oil pump with one of Z10 engineering's adapters.

You mean on the oil pump under the timing cover? id worry about it protruding too far into the oil passage and obstruct flow.. Is that what you mean? anyone ever tried it?
