Watercooled w/oil cooler
Alright...I'm trying to determine if I should get an oil cooler or if it will just be a waste of money. Probably the best way is to get an oil temp gauge and monitor my temps but hey, I'm thousands of miles from my car.
So who here has an oil cooler with their water cooled turbo? I just want to make sure I dont buy one then end up cooling my oil too much.

The oil cooler is a good thing for the engine, it just isnt bad for the turbo either. A lot a people neglect the simple things, like oil. If you have a cooler, it'll last way longer. It'll also keep engine temps down a little.

You'll oil temps will be around 225 F. The oil cooler will drop you to 180 F. You'll be able to change your'e oil with out worrying about burning your hands 
Figure out your budget first. My oil cooler setup has blown out of control-in for a penny in for a pound. It's the fitting and ss line that really push the cost up. Just those alone is somewhere around 300.
If I could do it all over a again, I would not do a remote filter. It adds quite a bit of extra cost in fittings for a little bit of convenience.

I still think 180F would burn my hands...
So if I would be at 225F with the water cooled and synthetic oils can handle temps up to 270 then it seems pointless to waste money on an oil cooler.

Bem, you should run an oil cooler, you know how hot the turbo gets. Thats really bad on the oil, it will loose its viscosity rather fast. So any means of keeping things cooler is good. I am going to run one on the civic. Allso ben, use synthetic oil, it stands up to the heat and holds its viscocity better than the regular stuff.

Bem...use synthetic oil, it stands up to the heat and holds its viscocity better than the regular stuff.
